Solution: You could draw more squares until you reach the 61th one. It would be very time consuming. Also, what if you were asked: “ What is the color of the 1000th square?” It is not practical to draw 1000 squares.

Let us find a smarter way to do this. The repeated pattern includes 3 squares (1 blue + 2 whites).
61/3 = 20 R 1, Therefore the 61th square is Blue.
