Sixth Grade Challenging Math

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

6-68)   Answer

                      27 adults and 9 kids

Solution: Since the ratio of adults and kids is 3 to 1, divide 36 people to 3 groups of adults and 1 group of kids with same number of people per group. Therefore each group has 9 people (36/4=9). Therefore there are 27 adults and 9 kids at the party.
Adults = 3x9 = 27, Kids = 9
